One Link, Right Destination: Geo & Device Routing for Creators

Zippy's new audience routing sends iOS to the App Store, Android to Google Play, and each country to its own page — from a single short link that still opens the native app.

Zippy: one link. iPhone gets the App Store, Pixel gets Google Play, everyone else gets your site. i sort it out at the tap.

You post one link. But your audience isn't one thing — some are on iPhones, some on Android, some at a desktop in another country. Until now that one link went one place for all of them. Today it doesn't have to: meet audience routing.

What audience routing does

A routed Zippy link sends different people to different destinations based on who's tapping:

  • iOS → your App Store page
  • Android → your Google Play page
  • Desktop → your website
  • By country → a localized page (US → your US shop, and so on)

You set the rules once on the link. Zippy resolves the right destination the instant someone taps — no redirect chains, no separate links to manage, no "if you're on Android, tap here."

The order it resolves in

When more than one rule could apply, Zippy picks in a fixed, predictable order: device/OS first, then country, then your default. So an iPhone user in the US hits your iOS rule (App Store), not your US rule — because device is the more specific intent for an app link. If no rule matches, they get the link's default destination. Nobody ever hits a dead end.

The part only Zippy does

Here's the twist. Routing and the native-app spring compose. Point your iOS rule at an App Store URL and Zippy doesn't just redirect there — it opens the App Store app, out of the Instagram or TikTok in-app browser. The same escape that makes every Zippy link land in the real app now works per-audience. And your campaign UTMs ride every routed destination automatically, so your analytics still tell you which post drove which tap, no matter where it landed.

When to use it

  • Use routing when you have an app on both stores — one link, iOS → App Store, Android → Play, desktop → a "get the app" page.
  • Use routing when you sell in multiple regions — send each country to its localized store or shop.
  • Use routing when a campaign needs a desktop fallback — mobile taps open the app, desktop taps get the web experience.

Try it

Audience routing is on Hero and up — the routing docs have the full rule order, and the changelog has the day it landed. Open any link in your Zippy dashboard (or the mobile app's link screen), expand Audience routing, and set your device + country rules. One link, everywhere, always the right door — and it still opens the real app.
